My Project
Our CCS elementary, middle, and high school physical education teachers are working to incorporate math into their lessons. We are having a professional development session in March to give teachers ideas to do so. The requested flashcards will be used by teachers for warmups. Teachers can have students pull cards, solve the problem, and then do that number of reps per exercise. Flash cards can also be incorporated into game play to further reinforce both the math concept and the physical skill.
Studies show that cross-curricular learning is extremely impactful and that physical activity helps to engage the brain.
Combining math lessons into physical fitness will help students to stay engaged and better retain the information.
