My Project

This project will support my students by providing meaningful, engaging challenges that meet the needs of our multi-age classroom, allowing each learner to think critically at their own level while still working together. Through math mysteries tied to diverse celebrations like Chinese New Year, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and familiar holidays such as April Fool’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day, students will gain exposure to different cultures, build a stronger sense of community, and feel represented in our classroom.

I want to add activities that encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and deeper thinking while giving students a fun and purposeful alternative to screen time and these resources will be purchased using Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards and can be used year after year to continually enrich learning.

By working together on project-based learning experiences, my students will stay engaged, support one another, and build confidence as they tackle real-world math challenges.

My students are highly capable learners who are also working on strengthening their social-emotional learning and executive functioning skills. Multi-step math mysteries that involve eliminating suspects and solving problems give them meaningful opportunities to practice organization, perseverance, and teamwork, helping them build confidence as they succeed.
