This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My terrific third graders are hard workers with amazing hearts. The majority of my students are learning English as their second language. Most of them come from non-English speaking households. This makes reading and writing especially difficult for them. They also come from low socioeconomic households, all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Regardless of these challenges, my students come to school everyday eager to learn and work hard.

My students deserve a comfortable and cozy classroom with engaging resources, so that their minds and bodies can grow.

My Project

This project will provide an engaging way for students to practice what we learn in our classroom. This set of materials provides electronic pens that students can use to study flash cards. The pens check whether or not students selected the correct answer by alerting students with sound. I also selected a math card set specific for my students' needs which includes fractions, time, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. These are all very important third grade standards that students need to know. Through this resource, I would like to provide my students with a different way to practice what they learn, rather than handouts or via computer. This provides a new and engaging way for students to practice their math.
