This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Math is often the subject that students struggle with most. It can cause stress, anxiety, and an overall negative association with school. This year, my students and I are working to change that.
My students are curious, active, intelligent middle schoolers.
They ask a lot of questions, hold themselves to high standards, and want nothing more than to have a positive impact on their school and neighborhood. At school we work every day to show students that when you exhibit our core values of perseverance, compassion, curiosity, self-control, honesty, and teamwork you can make big things happen.
My Project
Students work hard every day in math. Their focus, dedication, and curiosity can only be slowed down by one thing - a lack of supplies.
Basic materials make a big difference in a math classroom and we need to be prepared in 2017.
By helping us get more folders, expo markers, erasers, and pencils you are ensuring that every student, every day, doesn't waste time seeking out supplies because they will already have access to them. Nobody likes to feel embarrassed because they don't have a pencil or need to ask to borrow materials from their teacher or friends. With these extra supplies ready to go in the classroom, you'll help build a culture of honesty rather than excuses.
