Our school is in Manchester, New Hampshire; the largest city in New Hampshire, with the largest population of students in need. My classroom is a collection of unique individuals, coming from various cultures and backgrounds. Many of my students receive free or reduced lunch, and we are in our second year at a Title 1 status.
However, my students are hard working and eager to learn.
They come to school everyday excited and curious, and ready to work hard. They are capable of anything, and make the most out of whatever they are given.
My Project
These math games, number lines, and dice will make a difference in my students' learning because will offer them a variety of ways to practice their math skills. During our guided math block students rotate between 2 different centers a day; having a variety of games and activities for them to chose from will make math that much more exciting.
3rd grade is an exciting time in math, we learn multiplication and division, and we dig deeper into fractions.
Having a wide variety of activities for students to explore will help them have a better understanding of these new concepts. These games and manipulatives allow for easier diversification of lessons; and being able to meet all my students where they need to be met.
