My students need a video camera to create their own math music videos for tutorials and review.

My Students

How many songs do you know? Now, how many concepts from math class do you know or remember? By combining math and music the students will retain more and make learning their own. Students who use Ipods can also review the songs and videos created in class for tests anywhere.

The students are in Geometry and Calculus.

These are suburban and rural students that do not see that math can be interesting, because it has always been traditional lectures. Letting them be the teachers will help them to see the meaning of math through unique creations.

My Project

I am requesting a video camera to video tape the students creating their own music videos, myself during class lectures and explorations and students during class projects. The camera could also be used to video tape and post interviews with professionals using math in their job to further interest students in math.

This project is important to get students out of the lull of "boring math." It will get them involved, thinking and reviewing more and more.

Students think that learning math is a spectator sport, they hardly ever get involved. This will do the job.
