My Students

If at first you don't succeed try, try, again! I teach my students to learn from mistakes and practice. I need hands on manipulatives to provide my students with a higher level of learning. I am new to teaching third grade and in need of teaching tools. I appreciate your consideration.

I have four different languages students speak in my classroom.

The diversity comes with some challenges, but I welcome the variety it adds to the teaching and learning opportunities. My class has a positive learning environment and I strive to make learning fun. We have a wonderful faculty and staff.

My Project

Timers will be used in both reading and math. School goals and benchmarks are set and timers will be used in small groups and pairs. Math manipulatives provide a visual and hands-on learning experience. It will give an opportunity to practice and work toward mastery of math skills, especially place value. Organization is a skill, it is important to start and learn this skill at a young age. Having a place to put individual student work will help reduce cluttered desks and keep work areas clear for the current learning.

These items will spark the excitement of learning.

These items will provide a deeper learning experience for my students. Reading and math scores will improve by providing a way to track improvement. Remember when you were young and a new 'toy' was given to you? These items will let my students know others want them to succeed. Tracking progress and seeing their own improvement will build the students self esteem.
