This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a diverse population of students including honors, special education, and English language learners from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school, meaning students come from lower socio-economic circumstances. I teach mathematics to three seventh grade classes every year with thirty students in each class. My students are located mainly in the Elmhurst and Corona areas of Queens, which were hit very hard by the pandemic.

Basic supplies are the key to success in the math classroom!

The crayons and colored pencils will be used for projects. The stapler, lamination pouches, and sheet protectors will be used to help us organize our math work and keep our graphic organizer's nice to use throughout the school year.
