My Students

My students LOVE math and we need to find some new ways to keep it fun. I am always looking for new ideas and trying to keep the use of our boring text books at a minimum. Getting some cool new materials in their hands is a sure way to keep them excited about math!

We are a school in St.

Paul and we have some of the brightest students you will ever meet! Many of my students live at or below poverty and come with some pretty tough home situations. These students have proven that every child can succeed! Our school has gone from being one of the lowest performing schools in the state...to being the best school in all of MN for reading! We are trying to do the same in math! My students are always going the extra mile to become better students and they are always asking for more math. I do my best to provide the most challenging and fun lessons I can and I need some help! We need to get our hands on some new math materials and keep their interest going! In our class, we take learning very seriously, but also try to keep it fun! Our classroom is full of laughter and learning! We want to be the best math students MN has ever seen and we need your help!

My Project

With these new math materials I am hoping to help my students work on understanding positive and negative numbers which is always a difficult concept. I think having the sliders will really help them grasp this concept faster. The clocks will be a huge help for my students who struggle with elapsed time. This is something my students struggle with every year and I think this will be another resource to help explain that concept. I am hoping to use some of the other items for classroom stations during math as well as in small group with some of my struggling students.
