Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in kindergarten, speak two languages (Spanish-English) and come from low-income families. These students have less access to resources and supplies than other students living in the area. They came in this year with many expectations and ideas about school and my hope is to make this a successful year for all and each one of them.
It is crucial that kindergarten students have a positive and enriching experience that will build a strong foundation for the years to come!
My Project
The materials listed below will support Kindergarten students in their understanding of Math and numbers. They will practice identifying, counting and adding numbers through games and activities which will increase their level of engagement and motivation. Some of the games will be used during our Math centers and others will be available during free play.
I also included materials for our listening center which will support Kindergarten students in their reading comprehension skills by listening to stories and completing different sets of activities.
This will also help Spanish speaking students in their English language development which is an essential component for their future success in school.
