This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Math manipulatives will help make math memorable in the classroom. Manipulatives increase student engagement and provide an access point to abstract concepts by serving as a concrete model of the math concept.

One way to make math exciting is to add a kinesthetic element to the assignment.

Math manipulatives get students moving and get their creative juices flowing. Students are able to touch and feel math through the use of manipulatives.

Manipulative materials help students make sense of abstract ideas, provide students with ways to test and verify ideas, are useful tools for solving problems, and make mathematics learning more engaging and interesting. My students need base ten blocks, dry-erase paddles, counting bears, wooden patterns, 3D shapes, magnetic numbers, and more.
