Math Manipulatives for Struggling Middle School Math Students

Help me give my students supplies that will support my students in their learning of math concepts. I will be teaching elementary-level mathematics to middle school special education students.

My Project

* The students in this classroom struggle with basic math concepts

* Students do better with math manipulatives to understand, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

* We do not use calculators in our math classes therefore, giving students other tools to learn math is essential.

* Manipulatives partnered with productive struggle help students feel more confident with their math knowledge

* Middle school students do not like NOT fitting in. A classroom set of manipulatives will help all students feel as though they are part of the norm.

* Each student will have their own set of manipulatives including multiplication pop-it, base-ten blocks and other items.
