This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom, I have a wide range of reading abilities. I have students that are well above grade level in math and I have students that are below grade level in math. It is a challenge to find activities to interest all of my students and accommodate their wide range of mathematical abilities.

I teach at a state funded charter school in Southern Nevada.

In my classroom, I teach 25 third grade students.They are very eager to learn and I am eager to teach them. My students would benefit from hands-on math activities to make math come to life for them.

My Project

I would love to use the three corner flash cards in my math centers and small groups to practice addition and subtraction facts and eventually, multiplication and division facts. Teaching fractions is very difficult, so the fraction manipulatives will help make fractions more concrete and hands-on for my students. They will also enjoy the dice, magnet wands and magnetic chips, and other math manipulatives.

Donations to this project will help my students gain a better understanding of mathematical operations and fractions.

They will make learning math more hands-on and real life for them.
