Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the most amazing group of kindergarten students! They are hard working, dedicated, and motivated to learn. More than half my students deal with economic hardships as well as more than 60% of my students are learning to speak English as a second language.

My Project

Many of my students do not have the language skills to understand the math we are teaching. By having a plethora of math manipulatives, my students will be able to learn while having visual representation of the math concepts. Students will have the ability to use some of these manipulatives from home in math activity packets and in school as centers and whole group instruction. Parents will be able to help their students by reinforcing concepts at home. Their love of learning will be fostered through understanding, excitement and engagement with these incredible materials.
