Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves students in grades PK-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment.
I teach at a Title I school in Southern California where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
One challenge is providing supplemental MATH manipulatives and games that match our common core standards which will allow for practice in a fun and exciting way!
My students are eager to learn and do their best. It's my mission for each and every one of them to enjoy coming to school.
My Project
My students LOVE MATH! Everyday we are learning new and exciting math concepts in Kindergarten. When we learn a new skill we immediately want to put it into practice.
Our classroom is in need of math manipulatives and games to help practice our daily math skills.
We are looking for math manipulatives that are aligned with our common core standards. 10 frames, counting links, fishing for numbers, number houses, addition cards are just some of the manipulatives and games that will help us practice and reinforce these State standards. My students truly enjoy showing off their math skills and would certainly enjoy practicing with these new games and manipulatives.
