This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are innovative, charismatic, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, engaging activities that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to learn and grow socially, personally, and academically. They don't let their past dictate their future- which is why these resources would be so beneficial because their parents can't always provide them with the hands-on experiences that all kids deserve. My students are an inspiration and it would mean so much to them to get these resources.
My Project
Jenga Games, Uno Cards and Hot Dot Power Pens!, snap and slide number bonds, and giant magnetic graphs and charts will make a difference in my students' learning because they will be able to physically connect with the topic(s) at hand. "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." -Benjamin Franklin. I know that with these materials, my students will be more involved in their learning.
Brain Breaks are helpful in my elementary classroom it tends to help get my students refocused and energized.
Students love learning even more when games are involved. It's beneficial for them to have some time to play with games that require strategic moves.
