My Project

My middle school students often need to be shown that math can be fun and interesting. Currently, math is not a place they shine. My students do not like math and the idea of it makes many of them shut down. Sensory tools can help with the stress and anxiety math causes. Together we revisit math concepts they were taught before. I prefer to use games when teaching because it automatically makes the concepts seem friendlier. Snacks are a great way to reward students' efforts. They can gain a sense of pride from their time in class.
