Math Is VersaTile!

Help me give my students Versatile Math tools so they can build their confidence, esteem, and engagement by using these self-checking tools! Not only are they fun to use but beneficial to all of our math standards!

My Students

My students this year are such a great bunch! They all have varying backgrounds, as well as varying depth of knowledge is certain areas. As a title 1 school, most kids are low income. Some come from single parent families, with 1 or more siblings in school. My kids are fun, motivated, creative, and so kind. But most of all, they are deserving. All of my kids learn in a variety of ways; some are kinesthetic, auditory, or visual and making sure they all are reached and engaged is so important to my lessons. Technology today can expose our kids to all of these types of learning.

Imagine being shy and just not willing to raise your hand even if you KNOW the answer; some of my kids have this issue and with Versatiles, I plan on helping increase confidence and engagement with these self-checking tools.

The best part of being a teacher is to be able to try and have all your students' needs met. Versatiles helps meet all the needs either in small group, whole group, or individually. These math tools are a great addition to any math classroom!

My Project

With Math Versatiles, collaboration, confidence, and self-checking without shame is totally possible! These tools can be implemented in group settings, small or whole, and individually, or even in partners. Students who struggle to participate or struggle with content have a chance to interact with a fun tool that they can do again and again. They are easy to use and easy to move around from group to group. Another positive, is once we have the checking squares, we can create our own questions and answer keys to engage them in many other content areas and activities. Versatiles will help with engagement and give some of my kids the confidence they need to willingly participate in class discussions and show their true scholarly sides!
