My Students

Numbers are all around us. This is what we are teaching our children each day while we discuss calendar concepts. There is so much math learning that can happen in a simple discussion of the morning calendar routine.

My school is an amazing community.

We have the most caring, enthusiastic students that I have ever had the opportunity of knowing. The feeling that I get being around these students, and in this building, inspires me daily. I want to do everything I can to give my students the best opportunity for success. I feel that giving them a solid foundation will help them to succeed in the future.

My Project

I am requesting 2 calendar math pocket charts. Forty students will be reached with your donation. Please help make math instruction meaningful and dynamic by providing these interactive, colorful, and hands-on math centers. These pocket charts target essential math skills that meet state standards in the following areas: calendar concepts, problem solving, operations, number patterns, number sentences, place value, money combinations, algebraic thinking, and mental math. Please help make our morning math discussions even more engaging!

We all know that math is so important, and that a strong foundation is essential.

Discussing numbers as they occur in our daily lives helps students to build this foundation. Please help us to make calendar math discussions a part of our daily routine in first grade!
