Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 2nd grade in a multi-level classroom. I must meet the diverse needs of my fantastic students by creating an environment in which my students will have access to a variety of materials and resources to meet their special needs.

Everyday is a new chance for my students to show their abilities at independent work stations. However with the limited supplies in the classroom it is hard to provide multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge of content. With more materials at a station and a choice of several different stations, each student has the freedom and chance to practice math skills.

My students need 2 sets of math board games and a that can be played to reinforce math skills. They also need 1 set of independent learning centers that can be used to reinforce time, money, geomentery, and graphing. You will provide them with individual learning and choices. Center time allows students to learn independently, as well as get the individualized help that they need.

Having more center materials will allow my students to have flexibility in learning, choices, and to have an individual learning experience.
