Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students I teach are economically disadvantaged, academically challenged, and face hardships every day. Their strength and resilience never cease to amaze me and my goal every day is to make them see that they matter and that math can be fun.

The dry-erase boards and Giant Tumble Tower in this project will help close the learning gaps that were present before the start of the pandemic and have since grown larger.

My students struggle with math and need manipulatives to allow differentiation for students because all students do not have the same learning style.

In addition, the paper and hygiene products are needed for the classroom because students are no longer able to go to the nurse for feminine hygiene items and other items that were available to them in the past. They ask often for these items because they can not afford them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
