Every day is an adventure in my classroom! My 24 students love to share their ideas and reveal their creativity. This is my second year as a teacher, and I have learned so much from my vibrant 4th graders. I have a wonderful and caring bunch that deserves the very best education. My students come from a low-income based community. 84% of the students in our school district receive free or reduced-price lunches. For some of my students, school is their safe zone. They come to be loved and to discover endless possibilities.
Despite their home situations and economic status, they come to school eager to learn new things.
My students all learn a little differently. Some of my students prosper from whole group instruction, while others need small group or one-on-one support. I strive to meet the needs of each and every one of my amazing students because they deserve the very best.
Math has become one of my favorite subjects to teach. I love to change lessons up so that it is different each day. I want my lessons to be exciting and engaging while students grasp key math concepts like place value, multiplication, divisions, fractions, and decimals.
These super-engaging math games will target key 4th grade math standards while providing fun independent practice.
Each math library includes 10 different self-checking games that students could grab and play anywhere. I can imagine having my students in centers as they complete different math topics. Students just open a color-coded folder, then use the corresponding game pieces to solve multistep word problems as they paddle down a raging river, add fractions while playing a game of hoops, master multiplication while racing around a racetrack and more! Each folder comes with an answer card, plus a bonus activity that tests what students have learned. These are the perfect games to incorporate differentiation and meet the needs of all my students. One student could be working on their multiplication facts for 5's while others could be working on 9's. These games are completely student-led and would help my class gain confidence in their math skills!
