Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am fortunate enough to work in a co-taught classroom, where I provide special education services to students with their homeroom classmates. All of the students are in need of basic math word problem knowledge. Related to word problems are reading/writing skills that need to be mastered. During remote learning, many students have lost these significant skill sets. We also have new students coming in from other countries!

Students really enjoy small group work, bringing home math games, classroom competitions and math manipulatives.

If each student (especially our new students) had more materials and related reading games for at home practice, they would progress faster!

We play math games daily using word problems, math facts and center manipulatives! Students really enjoy this fun game practice! These sets would even be sent home for family homework.
