My Students

I am a middle school math interventionist. I serve students in grades 5-8 that have not met the standard in their current grade's math curriculum. Although most students are not happy to give up one of their elective periods to come to my classroom, I strive to create a classroom culture where they feel loved and supported!

With the effects of COVID, my instruction will be more crucial than ever this year!

I am hopeful to use this project to provide the students in my classroom with materials to make learning fun, with hands-on projects.

I am also wanting to provide flexible seating and a more "homey" feel in my classroom. That way, when students come to my classroom, they don't feel they are being punished for not being on grade level, but might see it as a "breath of fresh air". I pride myself in building relationships with my students and would be forever grateful for any help that could provide the needed supplies for our classroom.

My Project

I will use the supplies from this project to provide the students in my classroom with materials to make learning fun, with hands on projects. I am also hoping to provide flexible seating and lighting to help the classroom feel more "homey". I already have a couch and beanbag chair. Students often "race" into my class to get a chance to sit in one of these spots. I want to offer the balance chairs as another incentive and way to keep them focused on their work. Sitting all day is hard!
