This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our Title I elementary school, my third and fourth-grade students in the special education resource setting are learning essential math concepts such as multiplication, division, place value, fractions, and geometry. These concepts can be especially challenging for students with learning differences, who often benefit from visual and tactile learning strategies.
For students in special education, traditional instruction isn’t always enough.
Hands-on learning allows them to access math in ways that fit their unique learning styles. In our Title I school, many families cannot provide supplemental materials at home, so having these manipulatives in the classroom helps bridge gaps in both understanding and access. Your support directly empowers students with the tools they need to succeed. The Didax Math Manipulative Kit for Grades 3 and 4 provides a rich collection of hands-on tools—fraction circles, base ten blocks, place value charts, number lines, geometric shapes, and more. These manipulatives allow students to build, explore, and model math concepts in ways that make abstract ideas more concrete and easier to understand. With these tools, students can physically manipulate numbers and visuals, which helps them internalize key concepts and become more confident problem-solvers.
Using the kit during small group instruction, independent centers, and targeted interventions will help me meet each learner where they are. These materials aren’t just engaging—they are critical for differentiation, multisensory instruction, and long-term math success.
