Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our math classroom, learning happens through collaboration and hands-on problem solving. My students work together at whiteboards in a Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) model, where they explore concepts and share strategies with one another. But something is missing—color.
Right now, everything we print is in black and white, which limits our ability to visualize complex graphs, data sets, and interactive problem sets.
A color printer would change that, bringing vivid, engaging visuals that make abstract concepts easier to understand and far more interesting to explore.
Additionally, a visible timer would help keep our class focused and efficient during group activities. In BTC, timing is crucial, and a clear countdown clock would allow students to manage their work time better and transition smoothly between tasks.
Together, these tools would help bring math to life, making it more interactive, engaging, and impactful for every student.
