The students here at our school are amazing. We were a K-6 school and are now a K-8 school. I am looking to add more math and science concepts to my class to enable my students to know more about their bodies and see it in real time.
My students need help in math and what better way to learn math then while moving.
I am looking to obtain heart rate monitors and the technology to go with it to allow my students to visually see what happens to their heart when they move. They already love to learn, interact with each other, experience new games, cultures, and sports.
However, many of our students lack math skills. They need extra help and I need to be able to help them in physical education. Adding math to physical education is a fun way for students to learn math and using heart rate monitors allows them to see how hard they are working.

My Project
These heart rate monitors will vastly help my students understanding for fitness intensity, their bodies, and math. They will be able to see in real time how fast their heart is beating during different activities.
By using these heart rate monitors students will be able to calculate maximum heart rate, their heart rate zones for aerobic, fat burning, and at rest.
Students will be able to understand how much energy is being used to burn calories and their step counts as well. By using these heart rate monitors students understanding of fitness and the body will go to the next level.
