This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students (7th & 8th graders) are rising stars that are currently recovering from distance learning through the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortuantely due to the distance learning circumstances, several of my students are behind in math and reading. Being a math teacher, I need to not only cover current content, but close the learning gap for any material they may have missed or didn't grasp during the past 2 years.

By creating a high sense of engagement in the classroom, students will be able to enjoy middle school for the first time in a semi-traditional year.

Although we still have to hybrid learning for quarantining students when they are sick, most students are back to in-person learning. With so much loss this year, I am excited to create an amazing, fun, interactive, and differnet learning environment for my students.

My Project

These materials will be used to reinforce math concepts and help bridge the learning gaps that were created due to distance learning and the COVID 19 pandemic. By using black lights and glow in the dark materials, a high sense of engagement will be creating, giving students an opportunity to get excited about learning, specifically math. These materials will be used for all review days prior to assessments where students can get hands on practice reinforcing the concepts they learned all while collaborating together in groups. By collaborating in groups not only is a rigorous learning environment created, students can exhibit what they have learned, but also support each other with areas they may be struggling in.
