My students need manipulatives such as Ten-Frames Magnetic Boards, Butterfly counters, as well as markers for math. They love learning math by touching and counting objects.

My Students
I teach at Title I school. My students come from different countries and backgrounds. It is a great mixture of cultures and languages that I experience on daily basis. Some had previous pre-school education and some did not.
My students are extremely curious to learn.
I see them exploring and learning new concepts at all time. They love the hands-on activities, they love to dance, and they love to sing. We have about 40 minutes playtime on our kindergarten yard where they like to jump, play basketball, jump rope, etc.
My Project
During my math lesson I would love my students to explore the possibilities of showing me their thinking by using manipulatives.
Giving them a chance to use different manipilatives and express their thinking and knowledge makes the math learning fun and more memorable.
My students are going to use the butterflies in the "Counting Collection" center. They will use the ten frames to express their knowledge in addition or subtraction. The dice will be used in a small center where they can play the game" How many more do I need to get to number____?".
Hands on learning requires many manipulatives and students to be able to make their choices of the same.
