During my math lesson I would love my students to explore the possibilities of showing me their thinking by using manipulatives. Giving them a chance to use different manipilatives and express their thinking and knowledge makes the math learning fun and more memorable. My students are going to use the butterflies in the "Counting Collection" center. They will use the ten frames to express their knowledge in addition or subtraction. The dice will be used in a small center where they can play the game" How many more do I need to get to number____?". Hands on learning requires many manipulatives and students to be able to make their choices of the same.
