My students need fun ways to practice math skills! The folder games are for independent practice, and the other games can be used by small or large groups of kids.

My Students

My students live in a high-poverty, multicultural school district; they often face challenges in and out of the classroom. Many of them do not have the basic supplies needed for school.

Despite their challenges, my 4th graders are highly motivated to learn and contribute to the encouraging and supportive learning environment in our classroom.

The Classroom Charter we created together states that "We will work together to create a positive community where everyone feels welcome, respected, joyful, smart, and safe."

My Project

Fourth graders love playing games in the classroom! Using skills in novel and fun ways reinforces learning and increases student confidence.

Making math games available to my students throughout the year will support and reinforce their math learning by allowing them fun ways to practice.

My students will be able to use these games regularly in the classroom to support their learning. The games support a wide range of math skills, including multiplication, division, fractions, measurement, algebraic thinking, and more. The games support a wide range of abilities, as they are for grades 2-5. They also will meet different learning styles; the "folders" games are used independently, whereas the others can be used by small or large groups, even whole class activities. The clipboards are for a game called "Scoot" which gets kids up and moving all around the room.

Games are great for my students to have fun showing what they know and can do!
