My Students

In our classroom community we learn from one another and feel safe to take risks. We think about ways to become entrepreneurs and design thinkers. In the words of Peter Sims, we stive to create a space where "invention and discovery emanate from the ability to try seemingly wild possibilities; to feel comfortable being wrong before being right; to live in the world as a careful observer, open to different experiences; to play with ideas without prematurely judging oneself or others;to persist through difficulties; and to have a willingness to be misunderstood, sometimes for long periods, despite the conventional wisdom.

My Project

My students need portable tablets with cameras and access to educational apps in order to film their "how to" videos with their math teams. These videos are viewed by students at home to help with homework and by parents to help them better understand common core math strategies! These portable video devices make it easier to film around campus and for all students to have access to technology at school. The videos are extremely important and helpful with English language development, deepening conceptual understanding, as well as adding some giving voice to all students in our busy classroom. We would truly appreciate the help!
