My students need these items to continue math fact fluency! We use ninja math but this will allow them to practice math fact automaticity in multiple ways with Subtraction Learning Locks and 'Smath.
Our school district serves four communities and their surrounding areas, including a nearby Indian reservation. We are a district of about 1,766 students with approximately 73% white students, 12% Native American, 7% Hispanic, 6% multi-race, 1% Asian. About 33% of our students are on free and reduced lunch, and 10% of our students are special education students.
The town has approximately 7,400 residents of which 90% are white.
The average age of the residents is 40 years old with 26% holding a bachelor's degree or higher.
We offer a comprehensive educational program for kindergarten through 12th grade. The district is fully accredited by the state Department of Education and AdvancED. Our program is fueled by the energy of an active and informed Board of Trustees, an experienced and dedicated staff, and interested and participating parents and community members. Our mission statement and our Strategic Plan goals drive our decision-making process.
We are home to six attendance centers. We have three elementary schools (two in-town, one rural), a middle school, and two high schools.
My Project
Math facts, math facts, math facts! This is a fundamental skill my students must learn. Math facts are the foundation to many math skills to come in the future. I have selected a variety of math games and tools that will allow my students to practice math facts in a variety of ways. Often my students work hard on learning the facts but it is a repetitive skill, these games will bring a greater variety of ways to practice them within the classroom besides the standard way of using flash cards. My students love ninja math but need additional ways to practice when we aren’t being ninjas! These games, Self-Teaching Math Machines and 3-D Magnetic Builders, will provide the extra practice in a variety of fun ways!
