My Students

The students I teach benefit from a multimodal approach to learning. They require specialized instruction and lots of opportunities to practice new skills.

My students have difficulty understanding abstract math concepts.

They benefit from explicit instruction that applies to real life situations to help them make connections to math concepts. My students also learn by being able to explore math concepts in ways that allow them to use concrete and pictorial representations of their mathematical thinking.

My Project

A donation to my project will help me purchase an instructional kit that provides all of the pieces to better support my students' fact fluency development while developing conceptual understanding, mathematical thinking and number sense. This Kit comes with engaging games making practicing facts fun.

The Building Fact Fluency: A Toolkit for Addition & Subtraction a newly created research based toolkit by Graham Fletcher offers comprehensive supplemental math intervention that fosters real life math connections to abstract math concepts using lesson strings to strengthen students’ number sense and flexibility with fact fluency.
