My students need math manipulatives to include disks, blocks and dice and an adjustable easel to use them in small groups. With new curriculum expectations hands on learning is critical to this progress.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager learners who are working hard to meet the expectations. They face challenges head on and are enthusiastic to make milestones.
My students are those growing up with the inner city lifestyle.
Many face challenges at home with their families and their economic status. Coming to school is often a safe haven for students. Many students are being raised by one parent, a grandparent or foster parent. Our school is a small school in a very large district. Once students leave elementary school they enter the districts middle and high schools with many students.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are various math manipulatives such as fraction pieces, pattern blocks, base ten blocks and math games. These various tools are used for students to circulate through math centers. My students will use these materials in the classroom to explore mathematics through hands on learning. They will use them to collaborate and talk about their learning. The manipulatives offer students another way to use their brains and the real world to expand their knowledge base of skills needed for the future. The impact of these resources will be great. My students are in need of another way to learn and having the ability to use these manipulatives will provide them with the tools to succeed.
This project and these resources will greatly impact my students learning.
Their access to resources and materials is low, therefore their exposure in the classroom must be rich. These materials will help the students use their minds in a new way and make gains in learning.
