Math Class: Where Every Student Has a Seat to Succeed

Help me give my students a comfortable, organized classroom that will help my 8th grade math students build the confidence they need to tackle challenging problems!

My Project

I am requesting 30 desk-and-chair combination units that will completely transform our classroom. These desks are the perfect solution because they can be arranged in traditional individual rows during independent work and assessments, then quickly moved into pairs or collaborative groups for problem-solving, math stations, and team activities.

This flexibility allows me to adapt the classroom to the lesson instead of forcing every lesson to fit the limitations of our furniture.

Our current desks and chairs have been used by students for many years and are showing significant signs of wear. Several chair backs have divots and gouges, the desk surfaces are covered with scratches, and many have permanent marker and pen drawings that cannot be removed despite repeated cleaning. The worn surfaces can be distracting and make it difficult to maintain a classroom that feels fresh, welcoming, and conducive to learning.

Replacing our furniture with sturdy, modern desk-and-chair combinations will provide every student with a clean, comfortable workspace where they can focus on learning rather than the condition of their surroundings. Matching furniture will also improve classroom organization and allow for smooth transitions between independent work, partner activities, and collaborative learning.

The furniture will benefit hundreds of students over many years, creating a classroom that encourages teamwork, critical thinking, and academic growth. When students walk into a classroom that is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, they immediately know that their learning matters and that they are valued.
