I have a very diverse population, which I love!
This makes learning for everyone different than most surrounding schools. We celebrate different diversities, cultures, and traditions. Many of the cultures at my school are very hands-on learners!
Recently we became a STEAM School of America. We are excited to incorporate all aspects of learning into our projects.
My Project
My students make it easy to love teaching math! They have a passion for learning and creating during centers. Keeping students engaged in an activity takes quit a bit of materials. I want my students to have organization skills so they can be successful in class.
Growing mathematicians is key in education today!
Teaching them not just procedural math but how the math works is key for their understanding.
Using graphs and understanding data is only a small snippet of what I plan on teaching this year in class. I want my students to connect math with their everyday lives.
I want my students to use the easel and chart paper to create posters that will demonstrate their knowledge of math concepts we have used in class. I also plan on using the charts and manipulates to allow the students to create Jeopardy boards in the classroom.
