Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I strive to make my classroom welcoming and comfortable for all of my students. For many of my students, my classroom is where they feel safe and welcome. Many of my students come from low-income and socioeconomically disadvantaged families. They spend more hours a day with me than with their own families.

My class this year is incredibly unique.

I am currently teaching a 2nd- and 3rd-grade combination class. My students' learning abilities range from grade 1 to grade 4! Although they have many academic differences, they come together and work as a team to ensure no one is left behind. My classroom is a vision of teamwork and family!

My 25 students work together as a team despite all of their unique backgrounds. We strive to be a support system for each other. I truly believe that sometimes students learn best from one another, so we work in small groups teams throughout most of our day. My students encourage one another and lift each other up. We are a family in my classroom!

My Project

My students struggle in math. After a year of Zoom learning, math has proven to be a struggle and many students have fallen behind. These materials will provide a fun and engaging way for students to learn and review math skills.

Let's make math fun!

I always look for ways to engage my students and get them excited about learning. The power pens will do just that! My students work hard and always try their best. These pens will make their learning fun and help support the learning gaps that many of my students have.
