Our classroom will be one of five second grade classrooms in a Title I Targeted Assistant elementary school in a rural area of Western North Carolina. My students are going to be between the ages of seven and eight, which means they will be excited and enthusiastic learners. These students will be ready for a challenge to continue to learn and grow.
Although I have not met them yet, the upcoming students to this classroom are hardworking, enthusiastic children that love to have fun!
My Project
I am changing grade levels and moving into a newly created second grade position at my school. I am currently seeking basic items that match items I heavily rely on during instruction. I am asking for clipboards, so that we may work outside of our classroom or in various areas around the room. I am asking for dry erase boards as well as three dry erase markers per student. We will use our marker boards to practice writing words and solving math problems. The magazine files will store notebooks and folders for various subject areas, as well as serve as a book box for each student to hold their self-selected books for reading. I am also asking for a pencil sharpener, so that we can keep our pencils sharp while we learn!
