Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a part of a Title-1, inner-city school located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood in a large urban area of California. Our school provides a free breakfast and lunch for all students.
The desire for our students to do well academically is a goal that is shared throughout our school community.
Parents, students, and staff all work together to build excitement and a true sense, that education is important. It puts a smile on my face every day when I see my little learners coming to school full of energy, wonder, and enthusiasm for learning! I could only imagine their little faces when they see their new crayons, colored pencils, markers, and colored paper!
My Project
Students use colored pencils, crayons, and markers on a daily basis, we use them for coloring, writing, art, and math. We also need colored paper to make fun and exciting crafts, which then become displayed on our walls!
Students use these materials every day!
Crayons, colored pencils, and markers keep my students engaged in their skill, plus they love to use them! If I just mention that we will be using crayons, colored pencils, or markers, my students become SO excited and they can not wait to do their work! Students also love to make art projects with colored paper and when their project is complete, they are so thrilled with what they made and their parents love it too!
