Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second-grade teacher in rural Fallbrook, California. This area has a high migrant population due to the agricultural influence. Fifty percent of my students are English Language Learners who are socioeconomically disadvantaged and receive free or reduced-price lunch. Nevertheless, my students show an inherent love for learning in the classroom.

Through their education, they recognize they can develop the tools to overcome any barriers to success in life.

Being from a lower socioeconomic status does not have to be a barrier in school, and my students prove this to me every day through their hard work and determination!

My Project

My students love math and reading and are very excited to learn about those every day! We use math and language arts as part of our everyday learning, and my students would love to have a variety of different engaging activities for them to do during our small group learning time.

We want to incorporate these organizational tools so that my students are able to easily access their materials.

We have math and language arts stations daily, and these organizational tools will provide these students with an interactive and fun way to learn math and language arts. These organizational tools will provide a way for students to stay engaged, focused, and on task during this time.
