My students need all the tools, like SVINZ 3 Alarm Dementia Lok and a Coordinate Grid, they need in preparation for our upcoming state exams. So often my students are working hard in groups everyday. These tools will help us in our review rotations.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class of rambunctious and energetic students are vitalized to learn in all forms especially with the use of technology. Our class has the leaders of our elementary campus working diligently every day. Our school sits in the quiet hills within a smaller country town. Even though our school resides in the country, our class is innovating in technology constantly. A regular day in our class starts with sustained reading then diving right into our online classroom. This year our sixth grade classes have combined together and we rotate classrooms in preparation for academic life in junior high. We utilize Google Classroom & online interactive materials on a daily basis. The students are also innovating their production of classwork with the opportunity to express their learning in varied ways. Our students have the advantage of having one-to-one technology which allows greater opportunity and access to the curriculum and lesson materials.
We are a class of leaders who are utilizing our materials but alas there is always a new need to help better our classroom grow and innovate.
With the students rigorous standards, the need to constantly innovate and vary the students input of the lesson is crucial to their growth.
My Project
In our sixth grade team we are departmentalized, giving students a preview of their lives when they move onto Jr. High School. I teach the mathematics instruction to all of our sixth graders. In our district we have focused on student improvement especially in math and the math practices. I do my best to provide my students opportunities of continuous review of the math skills learned throughout this year. I want to allow more opportunities for Math Spiral Review Rotations.
Students collaborating and solving rigorous math skills is what my school needs to help them have the greatest confidence when formally assessed at the end of the year.
Students have shown the greatest struggle with understanding graphing the coordinate grid and seeing number lines both horizontally and vertically. Since one of our anchor standards for sixth grade is the understanding of positive and negative numbers I want to concentrate on that the most. This magnetic coordinate grid can break apart and can benefit four different groups, or put together to aide the whole class.
