This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love adding color to and outlining their artworks. Not only is it therapeutic and helps them portray emotions, but can really make a difference in the overall presentation of their work. I have found them much more excited about projects that involve them getting to make their own creative decisions on which colors to choose with different material options than if they only have one option.
Color and outlining really breathe life into their artworks and helps catch the eye of anyone seeing my students work in the hallways or when visiting my art room.
Students often feel like their works are unfinished until they outline the pencil with black, making for a more finished and professional looking work of art. I also like having as many options for students as possible for all of my projects, especially those centered around art therapy and allowing my students to express themselves through art. Not only will I be helping my students succeed in my art classroom, but helping their overall mental well being, which increases their performance in all aspects of their education. Thank you for helping bring color and professionalism into the lives of my students.
