Mr. E from Baltimore MD is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
At F Elementary, we have full hands to get our late-blooming readers up to grade level. The number one tool in our arsenal to make that happen is our daily Fundations program. We have modified the program to give each student a whiteboard and a plain Jane black marker. Students use these to spell and "mark up" our target words in their ongoing effort to conquer new vocabulary and word families. Markers these days -- I don't know. They aren't like the long-lasting markers we had in the Stone Age when I was in school. We've tried every brand out there, and none seem to last long, although we think the Expo brand is the best choice.
Hidden deep in our classroom is a great treasure—the Great Fallstaff 3rd Grade Marker Stash, a secret place more closely guarded than King Tut's tomb.
The scary fact, however, is that the Stashatorium is nearly empty—and we have two months to go!
We hope to refill our stash to get us through the end of this year while stocking up for next year. Based on our usage this year (and we have been quite strict about using these markers ONLY for Fundations and not allowing students to doodle or draw in the margins with them), we believe the order we are proposing here will get us through the rest of this year and School Year 2024 - 2025. We love what Fundations is doing for our kids and want to keep doing it. Maybe we're even being too hard on our markers -- they do, after all, get used daily for each of the two third-grade classes.
We'd be deeply honored by your help.
