When the boxes of markers arrived, it was like Christmas, if Christmas happened in the spring. It was epic!\r\n\r\nWe got through the end of last year and our third graders became fourth graders. A new crop of fresh third graders took their place and stepped up. They got the full story of how our supply cabinet happened to contain dozens -- hundreds! -- of dry erase markers. They were amazed that total strangers would toss in some hard-earned dollars to make their education possible. They learned something from that.\r\n\r\nI stuck my head in the supply closet the other day to see how the marker stash is holding up -- I think the third grade might get through THE WHOLE YEAR with the stash you all provided!!!!","fullyFundedDate":1742841340785,"projectUrl":"project/mmmmmarker-mmmmmadness/9201719/","projectTitle":"Mmmmmarker Mmmmmadness","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. E","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9354573_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699816768778","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9354573"},{"teacherId":4238637,"projectId":8434357,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, my students now have a full classroom set of atlases — and the impact has been immediate. The moment they opened them, there was a chorus of \"Wow!\" as students flipped through the colorful maps and traced their fingers across continents, oceans, and borders. Many had never held a detailed world atlas before, and they were amazed to see the scope of human history mapped out in such a vivid, tangible way.\r\n\r\nWe've already begun using the atlases to explore how civilizations expanded, how cultures connected or clashed, and how those events still influence our world today. During a recent discussion on migration, one student excitedly pointed out routes on the map and said, \"Now I can actually see where they went!\" It's clear that these atlases are helping students make stronger, more personal connections to the history we study.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to dive into a project where students will research a global conflict and use the atlases to map out key locations, movements, and turning points. This will help them develop a deeper understanding of geography's role in shaping history — and in shaping our present.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools to see the world in a new way. You haven't just given us atlases — you've opened windows to history, geography, and global understanding.","fullyFundedDate":1717423540545,"projectUrl":"project/atlas-of-world-history/8434357/","projectTitle":"Atlas of World History","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Theberge","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4238637_orig.jpg?crop=432,432,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754844760351","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/laya-theberge"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64410","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":611,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":83,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":37,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"21.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":56.8,"schoolId":64410,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Fallstaff Elementary School 241 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Fallstaff Elementary School 241","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/baltimore-city-public-school-district/fallstaff-elementary-school-241/64410"}
