My Students
I teach middle school English Language Arts in a rural school district. Each child in my classroom is extraordinary in his or her own way. My students come from various backgrounds. Living in a rural community may have hindered their ability to travel and see the world, but it has not limited their imaginations and desires to learn. Each student in my classroom is driven and has capabilities beyond their imagination. They each strive for excellence and work to encourage each other through difficult tasks.
Our class operates as a "family".
Due to enrollment size, I teach two sections of seventh grade English Language Arts. Each class has 25 students. My students are excited for new learning opportunities and an ability to expand their imaginations.
My Project
My students love to utilize their desks as writing tools! A typical day in our classroom involves working together in groups, where the desks serve as a wonderful place to take notes and plan projects. Dry erase makers help us to accomplish these fun tasks. My students love that they are able to use a writing tool other than their pencil/paper, and their attention with the given topic is higher when we use this method!
In addition to the use of our desks, my students have started creating their own anchor charts to go along with our topics covered in class.
This chart paper allows us to display the charts in the classroom for reference! My students frequently go back to the charts to help better understand concepts throughout the school year.
