My students need Chromebooks to create an interactive technology center with the intentions of learning about math and a tool for promoting literacy and a passion for reading.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is very special we are a high performing, Title I, Renaissance school. Our school population is about 88% Hispanic, about 3% African American, about 2% Asian, and 7% Caucasian. Most of our students are English Language Learners. Our high performance is really due to how hard our students work. Their great efforts score enormous gains for our school.
In addition to our hard working students, we truly have great caring families which allows our school culture to be one of a kind.
Our parents and students value education as much as our teachers do. Together with our families we make our school a wonderful place for student to learn and teachers to teach!
My fabulous first graders have had a rocky start to their school year after hurricane Maria devastated their homes and I am making it my mission to have this year be a memorable and effective learning experience for all. My goal for this project is to increase student reading and math stamina and engagement through the use of these Chromebooks. This year our district has adopted a new end of year assessment. This assessment is done on computers. My students have had so much to overcome already this year that learning to use a computer while taking a test is an added stress they cannot take on. With this technology, we can introduce the new program that is used by our district to assess our students. They will gain the experience through working through concepts at their own pace and they will have developed the skills to take the exam at the end of the year without worrying about not knowing how to use a computer.
After losing everything, our students do not need an added stress of learning how to take exams on the computer.
