My Students

I am a School Counselor for a K-5 Elementary School in Portland, Oregon. Our student population is made up of approximately 422 brilliant, incredibly diverse scholars who come to us from all over the world eager to learn! Through the challenges they have faced in the last nine months in the transition to distance learning amidst a global pandemic, they have maintained positive and flexible attitudes and for that, I am so grateful! They make (virtual) school such a fun, inspiring place to learn!

My Project

Since the DonorsChoose grant that we received in December for our families to collect household items (toilet paper, laundry soap, disinfecting wipes) was so successful, we are back for round 2!

We are hoping to assemble "Toiletry Kits" for 85 of our families that will include a variety of items requested.

This specific project is seeking funding for toilet paper, laundry soap, and hand sanitizer for our families. These items will be paired with shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and body soap and given to families prior to Spring Break. We hope this will be helpful during the challenging times of the pandemic where these items are often difficult to find in stores.
