“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.” ― Aldous Huxley
I teach choir, band, piano lab, and music appreciation to a population of very intelligent and talented students.
The majority of students come from low-income households. They also come from culturally diverse backgrounds and face challenges on a day to day basis in their communities.
I would like my students to continue to be provided the opportunity to receive the best music education possible! The music classroom needs to be a comfortable place. It needs to be engaging, current, and innovative in order for them to experience music to its best capacity.
New marching band materials and equipment have not been purchased for our school in years. My students love playing drums! Currently, I only have one quad set for marching band which is in poor condition. I have other students that are interested in playing, however, they have to take turns. I would like my students to continue to be able to progress without their progress being halted due to lack of funds and materials. Help me give my students a brand new marching tenor drum quad set.
Due to our school district’s financial budget, new materials for my students have not been able to be purchased this year.
Currently, we are trying our best to prepare for our December 2018 concert. We will be performing an indoor drum cadence.
