This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students from our middle school in Southern California are respectful, inquisitive and always ready to learn when they enter the classroom.

The picture of our class shows our latest project of our STEM class where students are flying drones that were programmed by them on a 3-D city that they built.

My students' imagination is unlimited and they work very hard at any and all projects.

Even though they are from diverse, under-served populations, and lack many resources, they still show up expressing the desire to learn and make their lives better.

My Project

This year our robotics class was given the challenge to build a 3D model of the city of Compton and to program drones to fly safely from place to place using coordinates. The idea was to show that in the near future drones will be the solution to a better, safer and faster way of transportation.

Our next project will focus on mapping their 3D model city with the use of drones.

Students will be able to create maps with pictures taken from their drones at specific coordinates and height. They will learn about the many applications and uses of their maps in many fields such as urban planning, highway design, housing, archaeology and agriculture.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics but to also spark the curiosity in the students to learn about their neighborhood
